Trend of Aluminization of Passenger Cars

摘要

Most of the aluminum materials used for automobiles were casts and die-casts. However, wrought aluminum products applied to automobiles have recently been increasing gradually in North America and Europe. In North America, especially, wrought aluminum products are being extensively used for body panels, such as hoods. Also, aluminum spaceframes are being introduced into low-production vehicles, such as sports cars. This paper outlines the trends and technical issues of the applications of wrought aluminum products to passenger cars.
