The Japan Automobile Research Institute and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc., have been developing a biofidelic flexible pedestrian legform impactor (Flex-PLI) since 2002. A prototype (Flex-GT-prototype) was developed in 2006, and the latest version is called Flex-GT. However, the Flex-GT-prototype biofidelity requires further evaluation. This study evaluated the biofidelity of Flex-GT-prototype, the relationship to the human leg, using an FE Flex-GT-prototype model and an FE human model.
