The announcement that Fuji Photo Film (Fujifilm) has agreed to acquire Dimatix Inc is one of the most interesting developments this year. For many people, Dimatix is an unknown company. It is a developer and manufacturer of industrial inkjet printheads, precision micro pumps, materials deposition and specialised print systems. Dimatix is formerly known as Spectra Inc, the name by which its printheads are known. In the inkjet industry, Spectra and Xaar are the two largest suppliers of industrial drop-on-demand printheads.
