The pressure on printers to be seen as environmentally responsible is growing, not only from the major corporations and increasing legislation, but from other influential sources, such as the Australian based Society for Responsible Design, which has produced the Green Print Procurement Guide (GPPG). The GPPG covers every angle in the print production chain from start to finish, strongly encouraging designers to consider the environmental impact of their work. There are many aspects where GPPG encourages designers to minimise their print consumption, which means printers will need to produce compelling counter arguments to maintain the levels of print.
