Being a printer in the modern era is a risky business. High capex and low margins compounded by changing technologies and the risk of obsolescence are driving many printers to despair. Not to mention the seemingly diminishing amount of print jobs and the escalating price wars. Enter a new breed of print enterprise, Rooster IMC, which aims to take the risk out of being a printer, or as much of it as possible. Without the stress of huge equipment financing debts, print business owners can focus on building their company. Established by entrepreneur Naresh Gulati, Rooster IMC has been set up so that printers can use all or part of its services. He says, "Printers need supplier partners who are an extension of their own business, and we can be that." Gulati has a track record in innovation which has seen his company BPO Intelligence come from nowhere to dominate the Australian educational market, with some 85 per cent of universities using his print and campaign management services.
