Esko has sold a shelf-ready carton packer on the eve of Auspack, getting the manufacturer off to a good start at the major packaging trade show. The Esko Mespic AIO loads small supermarket products into multipack cartons ready for distribution to retailers to be placed on shelves. The all-in-one system handles the whole process from loose products to pallets ready for dispatch and moulds flat cartons into shape as it goes. It costs about 300,000 euros. Speaking on the Auspack floor, Esko Melbourne sales manager Paul Asciak would not say what company the machine has been sold to, but that it will be used to pack products that come in flexible pouches like baby food and yogurt for a new Australian customer.
