The HMPS coffee pod packing system has won best new product at the APPMA Excellence Awards at Auspack. The HMPS8000 is a carton erector and robotic pick and place system for coffee pods but can be adapted for other small pre-sealed products like tea, chewing gum, and biscuits as each machine is made to order. The system packs the pods into sellable cartons, folds and glues the cartons and then packs them into shelf-ready packs for distribution to retailers. HMPS New South Wales and Queensland manager Warren Booker says the first system was installed late last year at a Vittoria plant in Australia.
