Remote access technologies for library collections: tools for library users and managers

Distance education has undergone a transformation: when once students enrolled in correspondence courses through the mail, now they sign up for online instruction through a course-management system. And since all students must have access to the same resources, university and college libraries need to develop systems which supply course-related material online - with the associated advantage that on-campus students have access to resources when the library is closed.
