Graphic Design Before Graphic Designers provides a general history of printing from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries, with a focus on design and graphics and they ways in which these have changed, especially during the nineteenth century. It is concerned not just with books but also with other products of jobbing printers such as stationery, invoices, leaflets, labels and posters.
