摘要

During the construction of bridges, significant displacements can beintroduced into the structural system and are often compensated for with a pre-camber. The calculation of the exact shape of such a pre-camber is often a complicated and time-consuming task. In this paper, a system is introduced which allows the automatic computation of pre-cambers to be assessed in computer programs. The system takes into account all types of loading including self weight, pre-stressing, creep and shrinkage etc. and has been implemented into a commercially available computer program. A practical application shows the successful use of the method during the analysis and design of a large bridge in Ireland which is being built using the cantilever method.
