摘要

Through a grant received from the Australian Librarynand Information Association (ALIA), Health LibrariesnAustralia (HLA) is conducting a twelve-month researchnproject with the goal of developing a system-widenapproach to education for the future health librarianshipnworkforce.nThe research has two main aims: to determine thenfuture skills, knowledge, and competencies for thenhealth librarian workforce in Australia; and to develop anstructured, modular education framework for specialistnpost-graduate qualifications together with a structure fornongoing continuing professional development.nThe paper highlights some of the drivers for change fornhealth librarianship as a profession, and particularlynfor educating the future ivorkforce. The researchnmethodology is outlined and the main results of thensecond stage of the project are described together with thenfindings and their implications for the development of anstructured, competency-based education framework.
