Full-HD takes center stage; A/V vendors seek next 'stars'

All throughout 2007, digital audio-video (A/V) equipment will continue to adopt super high-definition (HD) images. This trend for superb image quality will encompass flat-panel display TVs (FPD TVs), DVD recorders, digital camcorders, and digital still cameras. In fact, many manufacturers already have their eyes on post full-HD specifications. Others are focusing on network capabilities in their products. Altogether, digital A/V equipment is facing an interesting market in 2007 (Fig. 1).
