Dear reader, 450 years ago in Pisa, Italy Galileo Galilei saw the light of day. Being a philosopher, mathematician, physicist, and astronomer he made pioneering discoveries on several fields of science. Galileo's work distinguishes itself through the continuation of cognitive science by Albertus Magnus: nature observations and thus resulting principles should explain the world instead of dogmas - at that time essential doctrines. Furthermore, Galileo connected theology, nature philosophy and mathematics, which at that time were usually strictly separated.
