摘要

In [1], attention was drawn to [2] whence it followed that a low dose of radiation does not cause radiation-induced solid cancers in nuclear industry workers. This report struck a chord and has been used repeatedly in discussions of regulating worker irradiation. These results were confirmed in the next and more detailed publication by the same group. Moreover, the fact that extended irradiation at a low dose rate may not be associated with any additional mortality risk from solid cancer was not rejected. It was also shown that leucoses do not appear at irradiation doses below 0.3 Sv. Therefore, there is no need to regulate irradiation at low doses.
