A scheme for purifying regenerated uranium hexafluoride in the intermediate withdrawal in a cascade where low-enrichment uranium is produced from natural uranium in the main withdrawal is examined. It is shown that ~(232,234,236)U removal can be accomplished by feeding regenerated uranium hexafluoride into the step minimizing the total feed flow over all steps or into the first waste step of the cascade. Low-enrichment uranium satisfying ASTM C 996-10 specifications for commercial uranium can be efficiently produced from the purified product obtained in the intermediate withdrawal. The low-enrichment uranium obtained directly in the intermediate withdrawal as well as the product present in the main withdrawal produced from slightly contaminated natural uranium also meet these specifications.
