Textile spearheads development of Central and West China

摘要

Textile is a traditional pillar industry for Chinas economy. Also, it is an industry with remarkable advantages in international competition. However, in the face of the trend of industrial transformation, the question remains how the country should maintain sustainable development while intensifying advantages in international competition? Currently, Chinas textile industry has entered another critical phase. Strategy on Central and West China East China is a key region for China's textile industry with a leading position. However, faced with challenges such as industrial upgrading, intensified constraints and hiking cost, this region is experiencing weakening advantages. On the other hand, Central and West China is making full use of their comparative advantages. Therefore, intensifying efforts to implement Central and West China strategy for the textile industry is significant to optimize industrial structure and promote regional economic development. The development pattern of industrial evolution has determined that Chinas eastern region should speed up textile relocation to the central and western region to provide development space for its industrial upgrading.
