The use of space activities for achieving sustainable development

摘要

A comprehensive global data and information system is required to deal with the vast array of policy, scientific, technical, methodological, and practical issues. This would include a strategy for meeting information requirements of different users, improved access to existing data, and generation of new information products. Also, much of the information already generated is not readily available to the policy makers or the public in forms they can use. A critical issue is, thus, to improve access, availability, and usefulness of information to users. To accomplish this, we must do two things: first, compile and link disparate sets of data to create the information base and second, develop access services to quickly provide information to decision makers.
