A t a recent assessment workshop,none of our former colleagues,nAndrew Stuart Bergerson, offered annovel metaphor for building our university’snassessment program. “We need to spreadnthe assessment virus on campus,” Drewnremarked, half seriously. Although we hadna good laugh over this image at the time,nit encapsulates the faculty-driven approachnmany of us seek to develop when launchingnnew assessment initiatives. We attemptnto infect prominent faculty with the assessmentnvirus and support these carriers as theynspread it campuswide.
