DOCOMO reports declines in revenue, operating profit and net income in fiscal Q1

NTT DOCOMO has reported that its quarterly operating revenues for the three months ended 30 June 2019 (Q1 FY20) reached JPY1.16 trillion (US$10.7 billion), down 1.5% from JPY1.18 trillion year-on-year. Operating profit also declined, by 10.1% to JPY278.72 billion, while profit attributed to NTT DOCOMO shareholders slumped 13.1% y-o-y to JPY192.39 billion from JPY221.32 billion; EBITDA was also down at JPY400.80 billion from JPY429.30 billion. First-quarter capital expenditure of JPY97.90 billion marked a significant reduction on the JPY124.90 billion invested in the year-ago quarter.
