The conductive polymer solid capacitors (POSCAP) from Sanyo Electronic Components Co., Ltd. are widely used for the power supply units of computers, mobile information terminal equipment, digital cameras and for almost all other products as low profile, low-ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and safe surface-mount-able capacitors. In recent years, these electronic products need to follow the trend towards smaller parts to ensure high-density parts mounting. Thus the need to reduce the size. To meet these market needs, Sanyo has developed two series of capacitors, which adopt the company's proprietary face-down terminal structure and which are designed to lower their ESL (Photo 1).
