LG Display Starts 8.5-Gen OLED Panel Production

KOREA and CHINA - LG Display Co., Ltd. has started mass production of its 8.5-generation (2,200×2,500mm) organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel in Guangzhou, China, which will pave the way for the company to produce a combined yearly estimate of 10 million large-size OLED panels including its facilities in Korea. LG Display's new Guangzhou OLED panel plant is initially manufacturing large-size high-resolution OLED products, including 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch panels with monthly capacity of 60,000 sheets. This will be further expanded to 90,000 sheets by 2021.
