U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army (US-AREUR/7A) provides critical capabilities for the nation in three major areas. First, US-AREUR/7A is the Army service component command (ASCC) for the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and the U.S. Africa Command (US-AFRICOM), with an expeditionary stance for the 21st century-the right forces in the right location to respond to contingencies and build coalition capacity, capability and confidence. Next, USAREUR/7A is transforming to provide the nation with an additional warfighting Army headquarters, able to provide expeditionary full spectrum command and control.
