Jeremy Black's latest book on eighteenth-century Europe is one of over one hundred books written by his own hand or in collaboration with others. It is officially the sequel to his Politics and foreign policy in the age of George Ⅰ, 1714-1727 (2014), and one must presume that, along the lines of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy on film, we shall soon see his third book appear on the politics and foreign policy of the latter half of George Ⅱ's reign, 1744-1760. I look forward to the trilogy's conclusion.
