A principal at pagesoutherlandpage and the W.L.rnMoody Jr. Centennial Professor in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, Lawrence W. Speck has pursued a long and acclaimed career at the crossroads of architectural practice, education, and criticism. From 1992 to 2001, Speck was dean of the school of architecture at the University of Texas. He had joined Texas' architecture faculty in 1975, and has since received every major teaching award given universitywide at that institution. In 2005, he received the Rominiec Award, given by the Texas Society of Architects, for outstanding architectural educator in the state.
