The American Society of Interior Designers' Interior Design Billings & Inquiries Index witnessed a third quarter in which tight credit and weak consumer confidence hampered business conditions for the interior design industry.The ASID Interior Design Billings Index fell to its lowest point in July, recovering slightly in subsequent months. The Billings Index was 45.1 in July and increased to 48.6 in August before declining again to 48.2 in September, never rising into positive territory (50.0 or more).
