A considerable volume of building vity in Alpine regions is still carried out in a nostalgic kind of "yodel-style". However, in the state of Tyrol there are some praiseworthy exceptions. An excellent example of a new kind of village architecture is offered by the clubhouse building completed at the end of 2008 in Natters, near Innsbruck.rnTyrol - an architecture region How times change -also in Austria. Not even twenty years ago the new architecture in Styria was internationally admired. But who today still speaks proudly about the "School of Graz" and its protagonists? The advantage back then that this emerging new architecture was energetically promoted by the authorities has obviously transformed into a disadvantage, since the in-rnterest of the Styrian regional government in architecture has declined.
