This issue of a+u introduces the photographs of architectural models taken over a long period of time by Spain-based photographer Hisao Suzuki. When we started working on this issue, we received over 1,000 photos from Mr. Suzuki. As we selected photos one by one with him, we were intrigued by his stories from the shoots where he judged how to set and light the models on the spot. We also became aware that the photographs of architectural models are not only a record of study process but also a depiction of the essence each architecture has.
