The National Swimming Centre for the Beijing Olympic Games, the Watercube, will host the swimming, diving, synchronised swimming and water polo finals in August 2008. It will also be the primary aquatic venue for the 2008 Paralympic Games. The building is entering an important and exciting phase of its construction. The scaffolding that has been used to support the installation of the steel 'bubble' frame has now been removed, revealing the freestanding structure of the building.
