Marjorie was lovely - there is no other words that can express how she was. Her smile, warm personality and caring attitude were all characteristics which made her of one of the great ladies of her generation with her classic dress sense, upright stature and quiet forthrightness. Marjorie was a lady ahead of her time, as a working mother in the 1960s and as a female in a male dominated field of work. Growing up in the south west of England and then studying in the School of Architecture at the Northern Polytechnic in Holloway Road, she started her first job at Howes and Jackman Chartered Architects in February 1954, where she remained for the next ten years.
