Museum [Quality] Dining

Museums, by definition, are about definition. Museums define what societies value, what they preserve and what they discard. In short, museums define taste. Entering a museum is akin to entering a temple, or a Japanese tea house. The messy, noisy, quotidian outside world disappears, replaced by a world of idealised and integrated aesthetic harmony. Within, we adjust our behaviour to suit this world, and we adjust our expectations. We expect beauty, certainty, truth. Describing an object as 'museum quality' cloaks it in an aura, and the museum aura can affect all aspects of the museum experience.
