Urbanisation in China in the Age of Reform

摘要

Urban China today has been shaped by industrialisation and economic reform. Professor Zhang Jie from the School of Architecture at Tshinghua University, Beijing, describes how a market-driven process has resulted not only in uneven regional development across the country, but also in a lack of coherency in planning at the local level.
