The impact of the rapid urbanisation and economic growth of cities in Africa is now common knowledge and widely discussed, whereas the implications of climate change (while a day-to-day reality) are often a neglected factor in urban analysis. Such an understanding is of particular interest in coastal African cities that are now experiencing a significant rise in sea level and increases in rainfall.
