Waste is now a quaint concept from times gone by, and resource streams are carefully protected and organised by each community, who use them as a means to generate enough income to pay local people to manage them. Far fetched? UK households produce 6.7 million tonnes of food waste every year, making food waste one of the largest single fractions in the UK's household waste stream.
