Building Community

Given the length of time between landing a standard building commission and completing construction, it is hardly surprising that architects find small-scale pop-ups for community use attractive to pursue. With fewer, less complicated functional requirements than fully fledged community buildings, designers see in such projects leeway to focus on design issues many consider compelling and amenable to innovations. Often short term, these installations appear to promise quicker routes from conception to realisation (though this is not always the case).
