BUILDING PHYSICS, DESIGN, AND THE COLLABORATIVE BUILD

摘要

Design students need to be introduced not only to critical new concepts such as sustainability and resiliency, but also to new methods of practice and collaboration. Innovative teaching modes such as collaborative 'design-build' offer tremendous potential to reshape the way students conceive of the purpose and process of design. When coupled with rigorous investigations of contemporary environmental issues, these new learning conditions can serve to empower students and ensure they have the fundamental skills for working within a very different design climate.
