Anti-corrosion protection of buried steel pipes is achieved by means of effective cathodic protection, in addition to a good passive protection system. Installation and monitoring of the cathodic anti-corrosion protection system (CCS) is performed in accordance with DVGW Code of Practice GW 10 and GW 12. The scope of the manual measurements specified for monitoring of the CCS can be reduced, and op- erating reliability significantly enhanced at the same time, by installing a remote monitoring system.
