Changes in Qualifying Education, Curriculum, and Designations

The Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation has adopted changes to the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria that will become effective January 1, 2008. These changes represent the minimum qualifications that all states must implement to license and certify real property appraisers. The most significant change affects appraiser education, and more specifically, the number of hours and specific topics appraisers must take to become licensed or certified. The Appraisal Institute applauds the AQB for raising the bar on minimum qualification criteria.
