The Education of a Profession

The purpose of this article is to trace the interesting and at times circuitous route that appraisal education has taken over the profession's first 75 years. This story concerns the inspiration of those who were willing to share their talent and intellect for the purpose of converting an undisciplined industry into a respected profession. They soon recognized that true conversion to a profession could not be accomplished unless the highest level of education was available to the profession's members. This is the story of the evolution of the education of the profession of real estate appraising.
