Nonlinear optical characterization of colloidal solutions containing dye and Ag_2S quantum dot associates

摘要

We analyzed the nonlinear absorption and refraction in the dyes and silver sulfide quantum dot (QD) associates. The nonlinear refractive indices, nonlinear absorption coefficients, and third-order nonlinear susceptibilities of the Ag_2S QDs associated with various dyes (xanthenes, thiazines, carbocyanines, quinolines) were measured. The influence of dyes nonlinearities on the whole pattern of the z-scans of colloidal QD solutions, as well as the application of different molar fractions of dyes and intensities of probe radiation (40 ps, 1064 nm and 532 nm), were analyzed and discussed in the contest of the influence of various nonlinear absorption processes.
