Voltage-induced incandescent light emission from large-area graphene films

Voltage-induced incandescent light emission from large-area graphene films was demonstrated.nStable, bright, and uniform incandescent emission with a low turn-on voltage u0001u00036 Vu0002 was obtainednfor a free-standing graphene film u00010.5u00011 cm2u0002 under appropriate vacuum u00010.05 Torru0002 or Arnprotection. The emission spectra fit well to the blackbody emission model with the emissionnintensity being exponentially proportional to the external voltage and inversely proportional to thengas pressure. Our results indicate great promise of graphene-based incandescent emitters fornflat-lighting applications.
