摘要

We propose the design of a doped-polymer elliptical microdisk resonator with a wavelength-size notch and characterize the ability of such a resonator to act as a unidirectional emission source. The resonator shows low beam divergence (similar to 4 degrees) and high emission efficiency of 84% in near-infrared wavelength region. The effects of the deformation parameter and the notch size on the far-field emission are analyzed, to illustrate that the device is robust and reliable. It is demonstrated that the proposed device can be conveniently downscaled for unidirectional emission in visible wavelength region without sacrificing the performance.
