At a preseason practice for my intramural basketball team, the court was set up for volleyball. A secured volleyball net was set up across midcourt, forcing us to play side to side on the goals set up for that purpose. We had only been practicing for a few minutes when the ball scooted toward the out-of-bounds line near the volleyball net. Several of us started for the ball, but one teammate insisted he had it, so we backed off.
