Akibia Infrastructure Management Services delivers UNIX and Linux data center support services to companies worldwide. Because the company has many Fortune 500 companies as customers, Akibia must have the right parts available to reduce the risk of any downtime. Historically, Akibia leadership minimized this risk and ensured the company could meet its service obligations by overstocking service parts at its more than 100 stocking locations. As Akibia's business grew, however, so did its service parts inventory-and this significantly increased its cost. Akibia was at a pivotal point in its business, needing to keep its service levels high while significantly reducing its inventory and streamlining the service process.
