From War Rooms to Dashboards

Back in the early '90s I was taking a few very interesting courses at Claremont Graduate University. For one of my classes, I participated in an electronic brainstorming session, which was part of an electronic war room pilot. The idea was to have a complete picture of the business— plan, budget, performance, sales forecasts, revenue, and more—and then brainstorm to help identify and implement strategies to improve performance. It was a fascinating idea, and the systems, screens, and reports were state of the art for the time.
