The theme of this 4th International Scientific Confer- ence of the International Occupational Hygiene Association was the hygiene needs of developing countries. It provided an opportunity to examine prac- tical issues, key industries especially mining, and scientific and professional advances. Delegates came from across the world, and twenty nine countries were represented. The World Health Organisation and the International Labour Office also provided high level Support and most constructive involvement.
