The physical dimensions of a book are sometimes a misleading guide to its philosoph-nical importance.n1nT. M. Scanlon’s Moral Dimensions is one such book. Although it isnmodest in size and refreshingly brief, it manages to include serious proposals for hownto rethink each of three different issues at the heart of ethical thought, namely thennature of blame, the grounds of permissibility and the moral relevance of facts aboutnintention.
