Possibility aims to stake out and defend a novel position in the metaphysics of modality:nthe Entailment Thesis (ET), that modality is to be analysed via entailmentsnbetween properties and relations. ‘Necessarily, all horses are mammals’, for instance,nis analysed as ‘The property of being a horse entails the property of being a mammal’n(94). Possible worlds play no part of the analysis; Jubien insists they are theoreticallynvalueless.
