Georgia's Peer Review Program

摘要

Ninety-four percent of Georgia's community water systems serve fewer than 10,000 people, and 67 percent serve fewer than 500 people. Tremendous labor and financial burdens have been placed on most rural and small systems across the United States as a result of 1. the complex and increasingly stringent requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2 .the reductions in available grant funds, 3. the continuous turnover of employees, 4. poor management practices, and 5. limited cash flow. There is a pressing need to provide expertise, training, cross-training, self-help initiatives, advisory services , and technical assistance to small systems.
