In life you generally get what you pay for, and this is as true in manufacturing as anywhere else. Ask many in the industry about manufacturing in China and they will say that based purely on cost the country is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, but that issues arise when you begin to consider quality. Products from the Far East may be cheaper but some still have a taint of the "cheap and nasty" about them. The real problems start when low-quality products incorrectly bear CE markings of conformance. This has raised hackles at one UK test house and forced it to take matters into its own hands.
