RESPONSE TO INVITED COMMENTARY: Kiefer et al. Respond to “On Population Subgroups, Mathematics, and Interventions”

We thank Drs. Jacobs and Meyer (1) for their InvitednCommentary, which highlights the major point of our work:nthat there is no evidence to suggest that the relations of agenand height to lung function differ across the major raceethnic groups in the United States. We agree with theirnassertion that our findings may be generalizable to epidemi-nology in that seemingly different groups may retain com-nmon statistical patterns.
